Very interesting project. Are you using any dowel pins between the two? It seems to me that any misalignment between the mainshaft centerline, and the crank centerline could cause issues with longevity. I'm not sure that just the fact that it spins freely is enough to say they are 100% lined up.
Having said that I applaud your effort, and I'm excited to see how it turns out.
