13 seconds in a single cam 1.6 litre N/A is fast, especially if it's a daily driven grocery getter.

Take your negative attitude elsewhere.

Yes there is a reason to bash people, especially when they're giving bad advice about spending someone else's money.

Who is the only person in this thread to actually answer the original question? I guess you guy's don't need me.

I was running 13's with stock valves, springs, retainers, and rod bolts in 2001.

Head's up 13's n/a is not fast. Maybe if these guys were buying bisi's parts n running 10.60's n/a w/8 valve hf motors, I'd say yeah spend the loot. Who here want's to change main bearings every three weeks? Bisi didn't want to. Now he runs an accord motor.

And you guy's do want to go faster than 13's. If you didn't, you'd be telling each other to buy Gude parts not Bisi's.

I'll agree winding an engine out is fun, if there is a reason to.

Here's something to think about... What happens to cam lobes and rockers with heavy springs? Wear is accelerated.

I'd be inclined to say lighter valves would be more helpful in your situation, if you're truly worried about valve float.

Well ANYWAY..... I think I could live with only revving to 8000rpm since it will be a budget build anyway and then I wouldn't worry about buying springs.

Sometime this week I will set the revlimiter to 8000rpm on turboedit and take it for a drive and see what it looks like on the wideband. I'm guessing the ecu will just use the values in the 7400rpm column for anything above that? If it doesn't do anything crazy I will probably just keep the ps9 ecu and run it like that. I realize I won't be able to fine tune for max power in the upper range but oh well its just a fun build who cares!

The stock PM7 maps go to 7400, and the fuel cut for the DOHC D is at 7800. You'll be fine to ~8K as long as you tune for it, of course. You might not be able to get it adjuted perfectly, but, just run it a tad rich to be safe.

*giggles at Fowee* I personally love his attitude. Sorry, guys, but the dude has balls and makes a lot of sense in the grand scheme of things. *shrugs* At least he isn't giving out bad advice, it's just different.

Not to threadjack, but I will have an extra PR3 with the HuLog and Ostrich already installed if anyone needs one.
I'm working on a carb setup so this EFI crap's gotta goooo!

on topic: I use BRE and it's pretty nice. I have seen the major downfalls compared to AEM or Hondata, but for a general tune it works well.
