Err for some reason it wouldn't let me quick reply? Any info. on what I'm not doing right would be sweet! hah anyways, Thanks for your guy's imput. Those of you have posted on my thread. What builds are you guys pres. doing right now? What setups have worked for you as far as headwork/turbo parts combos goes. What do you guys think about a block guard? I kinda wanna do this build as a low cost. Putting my money in the good parts( i.e wastegate, turbo, etc) and skim on stuff I could do low cost on. I've lurked out this site now for a bit, and I'm getting a mixed review on the block guard Idea. I honestly Don't have the money right now to do it right and resleeve it, but If I can get away with just the bottom end getting redone, and some headstuds, and a metal head gasket I'd go that route. With that setup tho, What would be a decent boost level. I know it's all in the tune, but I'm looking for that longevity too.

Hey all, I've joined this site in hopes of finding "good info" on The D series Game. I'm looking for info. I can get on building my bottom end properly. I've heard great things about the eagle rods/Vit. piston combo. I've noticed tho. people over size the cylinder walls. Is this due to the pistons being over sized vs. the stock clyinder bore thickness? My friend was telling me that you have to notch the inside of the block to allow the connecting rods to clear when engine is in operation. Is that true as well? Or just b/s? I'm looking to build a very street-able 250-300 hp motor that will stand up to the test of time. I'm trying to find out the motor's strenghts and weakness. As I've built a few B series before, and Have no real Idea on what the D series can do. I'm also looking for a rep. machine shop in the central Florida area. I'm about 40 mins. south of Tampa in a city called sarasota, and I've looked around for a place with some street cred. in the honda game, but haven't found a place. Any info. would be great! Thanks!

Hey guys, new to the forums here and I know how the process goes when it comes to questions...Research,research,research..Well I've done my researching and I still haven't found the solid answer that I'm looking for...For a little insight on my(future) setup..

D16Z6 with 75.5mm vitaras and eagle h-beams (I have this)
Port and Polished head(I have this)
I plan on purchasing a Bullseye T3/T04e 57 trim turbo
Found a good deal on Forged Performance Topmount manifold
All working with 2.5in Charge piping dp and exhaust.(Car was previously turbo'd)
750cc Injectors
Tuned on ectune..

I know the compression will be low 7:5:xx

I know if I go to a thinner HG I can yeild higher compression but question is how much? I'm looking to get at least 8:5 or possibly even back to 9:1

If I decked the block and milled the head would I be able to yield those numbers that I'm looking for??And what are normal prices for having both done?I've heard anywhere from 200-600 dollars?

The reason for me asking these questions is so that I can use less boost while trying to gain the same numbers...I feel that it would be a bit safer method as opposed to lowering the compression and using a higher amount of boost.Suggestions, questions, input I would be greatful for as this will be my second build but second REAL build for me..Thanks guys
