Default New DD... AGAIN!

So, my DD CB7 ended up being complete fail. Its old rotten POS with everything falling apart. I've been a long-time Prelude lover since I bought my first Honda, '84 Prelude 1.8 EX about 6-7 years ago, and been occasionally checking ones for sale. About a week a go I did great find; '97 BB6 2.2 VTi, 165k miles, mint interior and only a couple of light rust spots in left rear fender. The price was damn good too (almost half of the typical), so I immediately decided to lay out those grands. I only had to sit 7 1/2h in train and drive back home as long, but it definitely was worth it.

Yes the wheels are wrong way/side, not my fault, will fix soon.

185bhp H22A5. Slow as stock, but you can be sure I'll fix that too!

I simply love this car! Its for sure one of the best cars I've ever driven. Already having lots of plans for it. Minor exterior upgrades(Mugen style f/r lips, small spoiler, 17-18" wheels), good suspension(I love yellow Koni's with H&R springs in my Civic) and of course an engine rebuild. Definitely needs some sound deadening at the doors and rear end. Will install some "light" stereo system, good quality speakers/amps front/rear and put my 8" P.Audio TM-8 subwoofer into trunk with stout amp. Head unit is the hands-down world's best car radio, Audiovox ME-412 that I'm going to install as soon as I get this post and my coffee finished. Unfortunately those superb radios are discontinued nowadays. I was lucky to source one BNIB from Germany

I've quite simple plans for the engine; F22/H23 crank and rods, TypeS pistons, new valvetrain/valves/guides, mild headwork, EuroR IM and better cams. Stainless header/exhaust. eBay Tri-Y Hytech knockoff would be good price, but genuine Hytech or Bisimoto is definitely not out of question. AEM EMS, or OBD1 w/ eCtune.

Do you know is AEM V2 intake any good (for stock bolt-on yes, but how about engine build looking for like 230whp) or should I get older CAI or some other..?

BTW, A/C makes quite loud hiss when I turn it on. It sounds around the evaporator/center console. Any idea what this could be? It gives cool, but sounds extremely annoying.

Another BTW; If I convert to OBD1, do I have to give up anything? Does it affect immobilizer, A/C or anything else? EGR I need to keep in car, but its desirable that ECU would keep it closed all the time
I'd prefer to keep the immobilizer though.

Yea the frontend is a bit goofy looking but rear is a lot nicer than '92-'96 IMO. 3g is also great car, too bad they're all getting too old and rust excessively.

So I installed the radio; Original harness was chopped my previous owner and there was shitty Abico connectors crimped for radio. I took the common ISO connectors that came with my radio and soldered them directly to car's harness. Joints protected with heat shrink tube. Car has original 2-way set in front doors and Pioneer 6"x9" speakers in rear ATM. I'll replace atleast the original old front set with something better. 4-channel amp with active xover would be nice for them too.

I'm assuming the stangs are bone stock and the lude has some mods, correct...? What's the power to weight ratio here for the Prelude vs. an average mustang's weight (3300)? I'm not saying that's impossible, however add some mods to the stang, and it's a different story. Headers, mid-pipe, and cat-back alone give around 20rwhp to a stang (if not more, I'm being extremely conservative here). Add some timing, UD pulleys, not to mention some gearing and now we're knocking on 13's (depending on the year of the stang, even the dog years 96-98).

BTW, what do these years preludes weigh?

HOLY HELL

I can definitely give my word on that! Well I like the rear spoiler, similar like I've been looking at. Tinted windows look fine too. Like I said, maybe some minor exterior mods, but I keep it clean and very stockish.

I just emailed to order dyno time for it in two weeks. I'll get it into dyno as 100% stock just to get baseline for future modifications.

According to Wikipedia, Curb weight 3,042 lb (1,380 kg)
