The new setup is going to raise some eyebrows. Thats all I am going to say.

Thats why this is called "OneCamOnly" . For some its not about the price. Its about the pride in which they take in building a Single Cam motor that stomps on all others. Sure it might cost a little more money for someone to get what they want out of a Single Cam motor. But doing a swap is too easy. Step up!
Where D's are better then B's and F always comes before K

What does "step decking" the block mean? Just wondering. This is not a particularly low compression, from what I can gather. Assuming a stock Y8 chamber volume (probbly less due to at least a cleanup of the head, even with some de-shrouding), a .0365" headgasket, custom 180.65mm rods, regular vitaras, and nothing else crazy, that's just over 8.8:1 SCR, and some actually decent quench. It's also good to note that with the heavy rods, pistons, and pins that there is no P2H issues at 8500RPM with .0325" P2H clearance. That makes me a bit more confident about the build that is coming for my SOHC. =)
Thanks for sharing, especially the overlaid dyno chart, and best wishes for success.

The block was decked, then the outer area surrounding the sleeves was brought down another .0065 to allow a tighter crush on the HG. This was done to help prevent the commonplace blown HG issues on high boost D16's.
As for the .0325" P2H clearance, yes it was fine at 8500rpm. I also did a few pulls to 9000rpm, and then 9500rpm just to see if there'd be any P2H contact, valve float, or oiling/bearing issues. It survived just fine, although power dropped like a rock - 70whp out at 9500rpm! hahaha

Do you plan on sticking with the same fuel? You ran 100oct. unleaded in the old setup, right?

Yeah, I used 100oct. unleaded before, we are going to be running VP Q16 now.

Sorry, no updates. We have a bunch of other projects that need attention first, unfortunately.
