Oilpump info

    Are the Y7 oil pumps the same as Y8 ones?

    I think so. It woul dbe best to check part numbers on an online Honda parts webseller site.

    Just used the pictures from this thread to verify that a Y7/Y8 lower timing cover will fit on the D17 oil pump. Looks like it will.

    Putting D17 crank setup into a Z6 block, the Z6 lower cover clearly doesn't fit over the crank trigger wheel on the D17 oil pump. Looks like the timing cover groove / bolt pattern is identical between Y7/8 and D17.

    I striped and took some pictures of the oil pump as found on our cars.
    Engine Code: B15C2
    Bottom End: D15 Kinda
    Head: Y8
    Manifold: Y7

    So this is the pump as supplied by Honda India as found in most of SE Asia.
    I am looking for something that pumps a lot more. And which is a direct bolt on.

    If we cant find something will probably go dry sump.
    I heard the DOHC Z6 has a better pump need to check that out.
